Directions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine 1 cup cornmeal, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar.
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup milk, 2 eggs, and 1/4 cup melted butter.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cornbread to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
