Directions
Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey cavity, rinse the turkey inside and out, and pat dry with paper towels.
Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan, breast side up.
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried herbs. Mix well.
Using a brush, generously coat the turkey with the butter mixture, reserving some for basting.
Insert an oven-safe meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh without touching the bone.
Place the turkey in the preheated oven and roast for approximately 15-20 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with the reserved butter mixture every 30 minutes.
Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
